Our Partners - James and Chao Wanje

James and Chao Wanje have worked as missionaries in their nation Kenya for more than 15 years and are passionate about transforming communities through the local church. Through Sowing Seeds of Joy Kenya, they equip and nurture churches and communities primarily in the Coastal region by focusing on marriage and family outreach, pastoral and church leadership development, youth and child outreach specifically through the soccer and high school empowerment programs, and humanitarian outreaches including Water for Life and food distribution.

The ministry has recently begun construction of a training center. This location will host seminars to train pastors, church leaders, and couples and serve as a place where youth can play soccer and hear the Gospel.

Malindi, Kenya Trip

July 25 - August 4, 2025

Prairie Lakes Church partners with missionaries James and Chao Wanje to serve the coastal region of Kenya. Their goal is to transform communities through the local church through pastoral & leadership development, marriage enrichment, Sunday School teacher training, youth (under 25) ministry development, and socioeconomic development. On this trip, we will be working alongside James and Chao, local leaders, and local churches to take part in the various areas of their ministry. Activities may include participating in their soccer outreach ministry, building relationships with secondary school students, women's ministry gathering, and discipleship training.

Estimated cost is $3600. Applications and $100 deposit due by March 25.
